Application Scope of CNC Four-Roll Plate Rolling Machine

CNC four-roll plate rolling machine is core special equipment in the field of sheet metal forming. Driven by four rolls with synchronized hydraulic power and precisely controlled by CNC system, it can perform pre-bending, rolling and rounding for metal plates. Its biggest advantage is that cylinder forming can be completed with one-time feeding without repositioning the plate. The finished workpiece features short straight edge and high roundness. It is widely used in many industries such as pressure vessels, environmental protection equipment, engineering machinery and pipeline manufacturing.

1. Pressure Vessel Industry

It is the primary application field of four-roll plate rolling machines. It is used for rolling cylinder shells of various pressure vessels, including gas storage tanks, water pressure tanks, steam storage tanks, oil and gas buffer tanks, heat exchanger barrels, etc. Pressure vessels have strict requirements on cylinder roundness and weld alignment precision. CNC four-roll rolling can realize pre-bending at both ends of the plate to eliminate the straight edge after rolling, ensure tight fitting at both ends of the cylinder, meet production standards for flaw detection and pressure resistance, and is suitable for processing pressure-bearing plates such as carbon steel, low alloy steel and stainless steel.

2. Environmental Protection & Chemical Equipment Industry

A large number of cylindrical components for environmental protection equipment are formed by plate rolling machines: cyclone barrels for dust removal equipment, spray towers, activated carbon adsorption towers, sewage reaction tanks and pipeline shells. For the chemical industry, it processes various anti-corrosion storage tanks, reactor shells and chemical conveying pipelines. Many equipment adopt hard-to-process plates such as stainless steel and clad plates. The four-roll plate rolling machine applies uniform force, reduces scratches on plate surface and guarantees welding quality of anti-corrosion layers.

3. Pipeline, HVAC & Fan Industry

Ventilation ducts, large-diameter spiral pipes, industrial flues, chimney barrels, fan housings, air ducts and dust collector volutes are all rolled from steel plates. Especially the cylindrical shells of large centrifugal fans and boiler induced draft fans require high roundness. The CNC four-roll machine can mass-produce cylindrical workpieces as well as conical cylinders, suitable for the production of air ducts and flues of different calibers, greatly improving the efficiency of sheet metal processing.

Oil cylinder sleeves, conveying material cylinders, and mine equipment material hoppers in engineering machinery; large cylindrical columns, curved support components, and bridge curved panels in steel structure projects. Thick plates and medium-thick plates can be rolled, which can produce standard round cylinders, as well as curved plates and conical cylinders, meeting the customized processing needs of non-standard steel structure parts.

5. Shipbuilding and Vehicle Manufacturing Industry

Ship storage tanks, ventilation pipes, and boiler shells in the shipbuilding industry; oil tank truck bodies, sanitation truck sewage tanks, and dump truck curved protective panels in the vehicle industry. These parts require high consistency in plate forming and weld quality, and the CNC four-roll plate rolling machine ensures stable forming, suitable for mass production of long plates and large diameter cylinders.

6. Other Supporting Industries

Food and pharmaceutical equipment: stainless steel mixing tanks, fermentation tanks, and storage buckets; power equipment: boiler shells, power plant dust collectors, and cable protection tubes; hardware sheet metal: stainless steel cylinders, decorative curved components, and small metal cylinders.

Applicable Plate Types

Processable
Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum plate, copper plate, low alloy high strength plate, composite plate
and various metal plates with plasticity for bending, can roll into cylindrical, conical, and curved plates, some models also support small radius rolling.

Comparing the advantages of three-roll roll forming machine

Ordinary three-roll roll forming requires secondary flipping of the plate for pre-bending, which results in a long straight edge; numerical control four-roll roll forming completes pre-bending + rolling in one loading, short straight edge, high seam accuracy, more suitable for
scenarios with high requirements for cylinder quality and mass production
The disadvantage is higher equipment cost, suitable for mid-to-high-end cylinder processing plants.
