Four-roll plate bending machine – special-shaped rolling results

Release Time:

2026-10-27

In addition to the good roundness of conventional cylindrical shells and the minimal straight edge after pre-bending, the four-roll plate rolling machine excels at diverse irregular rolling: it can stably roll cones with different tapers, elliptical shells, multi-radius arc parts, reducing transition sections, U-shaped components, and various workpieces with variable-curvature surfaces.

The four-roll plate rolling machine stands out in forming irregular shapes, which is also its core advantage over traditional three-roll models. Thanks to its unique four-roll structure: the upper and lower rolls clamp the steel plate, while two side rolls move independently to complete bending and pre-bending; the entire forming process can be completed in a single clamping without turning the plate over or re-aligning. The clamping is stable, and the plate is not prone to slipping or deviation, providing the foundation for stable, high-precision forming of complex irregular profiles.

When rolling cones, the side rolls can tilt to match, and the plate is fed differentially at the large and small ends, ensuring the cone generatrix stays straight without cone distortion or local bulging—something ordinary three-roll equipment can hardly achieve reliably. For multi-segment R irregular parts, the CNC system independently controls the lifting stroke and pressure of the two side rolls and plans the bending path in segments, achieving smooth transitions between different curvatures; the finished arc surface is uniform, the seams are neat, and the subsequent welding and correction workload is small.

This machine is suitable for various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and aluminum plate, and can process both thin and thick plates. The hydraulic synchronization system distributes the bending load evenly across the plate surface, and the rolls are quenched and precision-ground to reduce workpiece indentation and scratches. The forming pressure remains stable, the dimensional tolerances of irregular parts are consistent, the springback after pressure release is controllable, and the forming consistency is strongchina-plat....

With the optional CNC system, the rolling parameters for various irregular parts can be saved as programs and directly recalled for batch production of the same workpiece, lowering the operational threshold for complex forming and shortening changeover and debugging time. For the large number of irregular components in pressure vessels, environmental protection equipment, silos, air ducts, and steel structure frames, a single machine can complete the forming, eliminating the need for multiple sets of molds and secondary bending processes, enhancing the workshop's flexibility in taking orders and undertaking high-value-added custom irregular orders.

In summary, the four-roll plate rolling machine breaks through the limitation of single-purpose circular rolling. Stable clamping + independent side-roll adjustment + CNC programmability ensure stable forming and good finished-product consistency for irregular shapes such as cones, elliptical shells, and multi-arc transition parts, making it the preferred forming equipment for manufacturers that frequently undertake custom irregular rolling orders.
